Revolutionizing Art Education with the LUCY Drawing Tool

LUCY Learning Hub is an innovative online platform that transforms the way you learn to draw and paint. What sets us apart is the integration of the LUCY Drawing Tool, an invention by our founder Les Cookson, which makes hands-on learning more engaging and effective. By visually guiding you through the drawing process, the LUCY accelerates your skill development and enhances your artistic journey, making it easier for beginners and experts alike to master their craft.

Les Cookson

Cofounder and Inventor

Les Cookson, cofounder of Draw LUCY, is the inventor of the LUCY Drawing Tool and a key instructor on the LUCY Learning Hub. Les’s journey began with a passion for reinventing historical optical devices, which led to the creation of the LUCY—a modern tool that makes learning to draw easier and more intuitive. Les has developed an innovative teaching system that integrates the LUCY into time-tested methods, allowing students to progress quickly in their drawing skills through hands-on, visual learning techniques.

Katrina Voorhees

Head Art Instructor

Katrina began drawing around the same time she started talking, enjoying both immensely. She studied art formally at BYU University but has made learning art a lifelong pursuit under many incredible mentors. Katrina has experience painting murals, creating custom commissioned artwork, and teaching students from kindergarten to adults. When not creating art, she spends time with her two daughters, goes on dates with her husband, or tells a good story, always with a sketchbook in hand.

Ethan Nguyen

Guest Art Instructor

I am an artist and teacher, and I have taught tens of thousands of students how to draw through my courses and online videos over my 10 years of teaching professionally. I fell in love with drawing as a little kid, copying images from my favorite comic books. Having never attended art school, I taught myself how to draw through countless books, online courses, and trial and error. Now, I want to give back to the community and share what I’ve learned. One thing I love about teaching is trying to understand art at a deep level and then sharing these insights with my students. My strength as a teacher comes from my ability to deconstruct complex subjects into manageable, easy-to-understand concepts. To sharpen my skills and expand my knowledge, I am constantly researching, studying, and practicing to improve my craft.
